Belize hosts 17th Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development

By Zoila Palma:  On April 27, 2026, the Belize Tourism Board, under the Ministry of Tourism, Youth, Sports & Diaspora Relations, and in collaboration with the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), officially opened the 17th Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism Development (STC 2026).

Belize welcomed over 300 regional and international tourism leaders from 29 countries to its shores.

Organized under the theme, “Tourism in Full Color: Integrating Blue, Green, Orange, and Beyond Economies into Sustainable Planning and Development,” the discussions aim to redefine Caribbean sustainability by bridging traditional tourism with holistic economic models that prioritize environmental resilience and social cohesion.
