By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Kelly Street Bombers celebrated their first win of the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) 2024-2025 First Division Closing Championship on Saturday, defeating Hattieville United 3-0 at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City.
The Bombers struck first in the 22nd minute, when Delroy Andrews unleashed a stunning 35-yard free kick that sailed past the goalkeeper. They continued their dominance in the second half, with Steven Baizar scoring a header in the 51st minute to extend the lead. As the match neared its conclusion, Francis Andrews sealed the victory with an 89th-minute goal, ensuring Kelly Street’s commanding shutout.
This victory gave Kelly Street Bombers their first three points, as they bounced back from their 3-0 loss to current leaders Caesar Ridge last week. Meanwhile, Hattieville United have yet to earn any points, as this was their first match of the tournament.
