By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Caesar Ridge FC climbed to the top of the Belize District Football Association (BDFA) 2024-2025 First Division Closing Championship standings after a well-earned 2-0 victory over Old Road Defenders at the Marion Jones Sports Complex on Saturday.
The match was tightly contested in the first half, with both sides applying early pressure but failing to break through. However, Caesar Ridge made key adjustments after the break, leading to the 58th-minute strike from Jacob Joseph, which put them ahead. Eight minutes later, Ajani Vaughn doubled the lead, securing the win. Unfortunately, Vaughn suffered a serious knee injury in a collision with Old Road’s goalkeeper, ruling him out for the rest of the season.
With this result, Caesar Ridge FC now lead the BDFA First Division with six points, as subchampions Tut Bay were inactive this week. Old Road Defenders have only one point, from Week 1 draw with Reggae Boyz.
