By Zoila Palma: On May 15, 2026, the Belize Coast Guard officially welcomed its newest defenders of the sea with the graduation of Recruit Intake #12.
After enduring weeks of grueling physical, mental, and tactical training, these disciplined men and women have now earned the right to wear the uniform and protect the nation’s territorial waters.
The ceremony, held at the Coast Guard Headquarters in Belize City, marked their transition from recruits to guardians of Belize’s maritime borders, protectors of marine resources, and first responders at sea.
“Their commitment ensures that Belize remains safe, secure, and sovereign,” the Belize Coast Guard noted.
