By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 23-year-old Belize City man with a history of drug-related offenses has been sentenced to three months in prison after pleading guilty to possession of a utensil used for smoking controlled drugs.
Brian Adam Fuentes, a labourer with no fixed address, appeared unrepresented before a Senior Magistrate in Court #3 earlier this week, where he was charged with possession of a silver metal pipe suspected to be used for smoking drugs. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Police say they were called to the Pound Yard bus stop area by a concerned business owner who reported that a man matching Fuentes’ description was harassing pedestrians and making threats. Officers responded to the call and located Fuentes, who fit the detailed description given.
During a search, Fuentes voluntarily pulled a metal pipe from his pocket and handed it over to the officers. He was arrested and later charged.
In court, Fuentes admitted guilt but was handed a custodial sentence due to his multiple prior convictions for similar offenses involving drugs and crack pipes. He will serve a three-month term at the Belize Central Prison.
