Alleged machete man out on bail for aggravated assault

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Russell Robert Reyes, 27, is out on bail after being accused of assaulting a man with a machete.

Reyes appeared in court unrepresented on Wednesday and was read a single count of aggravated assault with a machete. He was offered bail in the sum of $1,500, which he met. His case was adjourned until April 27.

According to police reports, the complainant reported that on March 25, he riding his bicycle to buy at DK Supermarket on the Philip Goldson Highway when Reyes approached him with a machete and swung at him. The complainant says Reyes called him an “a—-le” and then he became fearful for his life and rode away.
