By Zoila Palma: Belizeans paid more for clothing, household cleaning products and certain domestic services in September 2026, according to the latest Consumer Price Index report released by the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB).
The report shows that clothing and footwear prices increased by 3.1 percent compared to September 2025. The increase reflected higher prices for clothing for both males and females.
Meanwhile, furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance costs rose by 2.5 percent. The SIB attributed the increase mainly to higher prices for household cleaning and maintenance products, including laundry bar soaps, liquid detergents, soap powders, dishwashing liquids and bleach.
The cost of domestic and household services, including lawn-cutting services, also increased during the month.
