By Zoila Palma: Eating out became more expensive in Belize in September, with prices for restaurants and accommodation services rising by 4.3 percent compared to September 2025, according to the Statistical Institute of Belize (SIB).
The increase occurred alongside a 4.3 percent rise in the food and non-alcoholic beverages category, as households also paid more for groceries, including poultry, vegetables, sugar, fruit and certain beverages.
Higher transportation costs, including fuel and passenger fares, further contributed to the overall increase in consumer prices.
