By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 17-year-old Belize City student, Kaylon David, was shot and killed on Thursday evening, October 8, 2026, in a separate shooting incident on Iguana Street Extension.
David, a resident of #178 Iguana Street Extension, was reportedly walking along the street when an unidentified gunman approached him and opened fire before fleeing the area.
Police received reports of the shooting at approximately 6:40 p.m. and subsequently learned that the teenager had been transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment.
David sustained two gunshot wounds to the head and later succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention.
Investigators recovered a 9mm expended shell casing from the scene and reviewed surveillance footage from the surrounding area as part of their investigation.
Police have not established a motive for the killing.
