By Zoila Palma: U.S. Ambassador to Belize, Ambassador Andre Bauer, is raising awareness about breast cancer by highlighting the personal experiences of two U.S. Embassy colleagues who shared their journeys with the disease.
The initiative comes during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, observed globally to raise awareness and call for improved access to timely diagnosis and quality care.
This year’s theme, “Every story is unique, every journey matters,” recognizes that each person’s experience with breast cancer is different.
Ambassador Bauer’s engagement with the two colleagues also highlights the courage and resilience of those affected by the disease.
Breast cancer awareness efforts continue to emphasize that everyone affected deserves support, dignity, and access to the care they need.
