By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police in Orange Walk are investigating a theft reported by a 37 year old woman who says two men approached her from behind while she was walking along Flamingo Street in Trial Farm Village on Monday night.
According to police information, the woman was walking with her aunt at around 9:30 p.m. on September 21 when two Hispanic men reportedly came up behind them.
Police say one of the men was walking while the other was riding a small beach cruiser bicycle.
The man who was on foot allegedly grabbed the woman’s white sling purse before both men fled the area.
The purse reportedly contained three Social Security cards, several bank and credit cards, and a Tecno Digi cellphone.
The woman told police that one of the suspects was wearing a white cap, white T shirt and black short pants and was approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall. She could not recall how the second man was dressed.
After the incident, the woman reportedly ran to a nearby shop and asked for assistance. The shop owner contacted the Trial Farm Police Sub Station, and she was later assisted in making a report.
Police say the matter remains under investigation.
