By Breaking Belize News Staff: Belizean hospitality workers and their families are expected to benefit from a new group life and medical insurance plan launched through a partnership between the Belize Hotel Association and Sagicor.
The BHA Group Life and Medical Plan will allow eligible association member businesses to access corporate-grade insurance coverage at exclusive rates. The initiative is only the second of its kind in Belize and is intended to help employers strengthen their benefits packages while supporting the well-being and financial security of workers and their families.
Coverage options include health insurance, life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment benefits, with several price points available. The plan is open to BHA member businesses of varying sizes, and no underwriting is currently required to determine employee eligibility.
BHA President Reynaldo Malik said the partnership reflects the association’s commitment to providing meaningful value to its members and making important coverage more affordable and accessible.
Sagicor Senior Sales Associate Stephen Bermudez said the initiative would support employers and employees while helping to create a healthier and more secure hospitality workforce.
