By Zoila Palma: During cabinet’s meeting on June 23, 2026, Prime Minister John Briceno briefed Cabinet on the request of Oscar Mira to take a leave of absence and the Prime Minister’s decision to accept same.
Cabinet also discussed and examined the existing Government Procurement Rules and considered that the current process of comprehensively reviewing and updating these Procurement Rules (including the Financial Orders 1965, the Stores Orders 1968), must be fast-tracked.
Thus, cabinet directed that the new draft Procurement Rules be submitted for its consideration within the next three months.
