By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): Police are investigating a shooting in rural Belize District that left three people injured.
The incident happened in Lords Bank Village, Ladyville, where, according to police, Alfredo Flores, Edgar Flores, and Giovanni Gillette were socializing with others when a male person arrived in front of the yard and opened fire on the group. Several shots were fired, injuring three people.
Police launched their investigation on June 24, 2026, at around 7:55 p.m., after responding to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital based on information received. There, officers found two men receiving treatment, identified as 24-year-old Alfredo Flores and 19-year-old Giovanni Gillette.
Both Flores and Gillette were taken to the KHMH for medical attention, where they are listed in critical but stable condition. A third man, Edgar Flores, also sustained injuries but refused medical treatment.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not yet released information on a suspect or a possible motive. Anyone with information is asked to contact the nearest police station.
