
By Zoila Palma: In celebration of Education week, this week under the theme “Building Tomorrow’s Dreams on the Foundations of Today’s Education, ” Assistant Commissioner of Police Howell Gillett provided desktop computers to support educational programs at primary schools.
“Supporting schools with computers is important because technology has become a vital part of education, communication, and future career opportunities. A computer is more than just a machine in a classroom, it is a powerful tool that expands learning, creativity, and opportunities for both students and teachers alike,” Gillett said.
Santa Elena Primary School in Santa Elena, Cayo was one of the recipients of the desktop.
“We are grateful to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Howell Gillett, for the generous donation of a desktop computer to schools across the country. Santa Elena Primary School is honored to have been one of the recipients through Ms. Adilia Vega Pech, our Infant 2 teacher. This contribution will help support teaching and learning opportunities for both students and teachers,” Santa Elena Primary expressed.
