By Aaron Humes: A man’s disappearance prompted concern, but a happy resolution was reached when Herbert James Stuart Jr., a 53-year-old self-employed resident of Los Lagos Community, was located unharmed.

Herbert’s common-law wife, Elsa Lovinia Allen, reported him missing on the afternoon of April 29, after he failed to return home from work on Saturday, April 25. Allen informed authorities that Herbert left their residence around 7:30 AM that Saturday, dressed in a grey shirt and olive-colored jeans, and had not been seen or heard from since.

The Belize Police Department promptly launched an investigation, with details shared about Herbert’s physical description: he is of brown complexion, stout build, approximately six feet tall, with shoulder-length hair. Notably, he has tattoos of the names “Tercia” on his left shoulder and “Jaymel” on his right.

At 8:00 PM on the same day of the report, Herbert visited the Ladyville Criminal Investigation Branch Office to confirm he was safe and sound. He explained the circumstances surrounding his extended absence, and police recorded a statement from him to clarify the situation.
