By Zoila Palma: Today, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and New Growth Industries welcomed a delegation from the Bahamas.
The delegation is in Belize as guests to witness the National Agriculture and Trade Show 2026.
This morning, the delegation met with Minister of Agriculture Rodwell Ferguson and members of the Ministry’s senior management team.
Discussions focused on mutual issues of interest, including food importation and exportation, and topics related to agriculture.
The delegation will also visit areas of production in Belize, including the sugar factories of BSI and Santander, CPBL and Spanish Lookout.
The delegation includes Godfrey Eneas, Chairman, Bahamas Centre for Food and Nutrition Security; Carl Smith, Deputy Chairman, National Advisory Committee on Agriculture; Leslie Minns, Head, Trade Facilitation Unit; Dr. Jason Sands, Director of Agriculture; Christopher Worrel, Director, Bahamas Agricultural Health & Food Safety Authority.
