By Zoila Palma: On April 13 and 14, 2026, the Spouses of CARICOM Leaders Action Network (SCLAN), in collaboration with the Office of the Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, successfully hosted a Training of Trainers on the revised curriculum for the program “Engaging Men and Boys to Advance Gender Equality and Help Prevent Gender-Based Violence.”
The two-day training covered critical topics including gender awareness, domestic violence awareness, gender-based violence, mental health awareness, and building healthy relationships.
“This initiative ensures that facilitators are equipped with current, relevant knowledge to effectively deliver the training and foster meaningful impact within the high schools of Belize,” the Special Envoy said.
The Special Envoy extended gratitude to Adelie Catzim-Sanchez, CEO in the Ministry of Human Development, for her continued support, and Licia Castillo for facilitating Day 2 of the training.
“Together, we continue strengthening our efforts to promote respect, equity, and healthier communities across Belize,” the Special envoy added.
