By Zoila Palma: The U.S. State Department bureau of Western Hemisphere commended Belize’s Anti-Narcotics Unit for conducting one of the largest drug seizures in Belize’s history.
“551 kg of cocaine, along with cash, devices, and other evidence. Through the Americas Counter Cartel Coalition, created by @POTUS to bring together 17 nations to dismantle drug cartels and terrorist groups, Belize and our partners are putting an end to the narco-terrorists operating in our hemisphere,” the statement said.
The multi-agency operation included units from the Joint Intelligence Operations Centre (JIOC), along with specialized units of the Belize Police Department, Belize Defence Force, Belize Coast Guard, and the Customs Department.
