Belize’s Under-19 Women’s National Volleyball Team return to the court today, Thursday, November 13, for a crucial clash against Nicaragua at the XV Central American U19 Women’s Volleyball Championship. The match, set for 4:30 pm at the FESAVOL Gymnasium in San Salvador, El Salvador, comes on the heels of a tough 3–0 opening loss to Honduras.
In their tournament debut on Wednesday, the youthful Belizean squad—composed primarily of U17 players—showed flashes of potential but ultimately fell in straight sets (25–17, 25–14, 25–14) to a more seasoned Honduran side. The defeat places Belize in a challenging position as they prepare to face a Nicaraguan team that already impressed with a 3–0 win over Honduras in Tuesday’s opener (31–29, 25–14, 26–24).
With limited recovery time between matches, Head Coach Nelissa Ramirez and Assistant Coaches José Fontes and Kevanna Sebastian led the team through an early Thursday training session at 8:00 am, focusing on tactical adjustments and mental readiness.
