Belize Makes History! 🥉 Women’s Volleyball Team Clinches Bronze at XII Central American Games

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: BELIZE ! Belize’s Women’s National Volleyball Team have made history, clinching the bronze medal at the 12th Central American Games with an impressive 3–1 victory over archrivals Guatemala.

In a match charged with emotion and national pride, Belize triumphed with set scores of 25–13, 25–19, 14–25, 25–21 at the Gimnasio Teodoro Palacios Flores in Guatemala City, securing the country’s first-ever volleyball medal at the regional Games.

Bronze Medal Match – Final Score

Belize def. Guatemala 3–1

• Set 1: 25–13
• Set 2: 25–19
• Set 3: 14–25
• Set 4: 25–21

Led by the dynamic trio of Gareth Bruce, Herdie Castillo, and libero Kaleigh Cardinez, Belize came out firing, dominating the first two sets with aggressive attacks and disciplined defence. Guatemala responded in the third, but Belize regrouped and sealed the match in the fourth with a decisive finish.

This victory caps off a remarkable campaign for Belize, who topped Group B with wins over Honduras, Guatemala, and Panama, before falling to Nicaragua in the semi-finals. The bronze medal match served as a rematch of Saturday’s five-set thriller, and once again, Belize proved their mettle.
