By Zoila Palma: The sickout at Corozal Community College (CCC) has entered its second day, disrupting classes for hundreds of students.
On Monday, teachers staged a walkout after failing to receive their salaries, which were expected on Friday, September 26.
The protest, which educators describe as a “sickout,” has forced the suspension of classes as staff demand payment of their overdue wages. Teachers say they will not return to the classroom until the issue is resolved.
An email from the Principal sent out today informs parents that due to teachers being out of classes due to illness, the school will not have regular classes today.
