By Zoila Palma: The Taiwan Embassy in Belize joined in expressing enthusiasm following the announcement that commencing today, Taiwan officially opens its market to white shrimp from Belize tariff-free.
“This significant development further strengthens our bilateral trade and economic partnership.
Together, we promote shared prosperity for our two nations and peoples,” the Taiwan Embassy noted.
Following 2 years of work, Belize passed the inspection by the Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and is open to import into Taiwan.
“This is not just good news for diplomacy, it’s a new choice on the table for Taiwan,” officials said.
White oysters from Belize, round and full, sweet and fat, healthy and hygienic by the two governments of Taiwan,” Taiwanese officials noted.
In addition to white oysters, high-quality aquatic products, including lobster, crabs, conch and other products will be exported from Belize.
