By Zoila Palma: ACE Lounge took a bold step in youth development this summer by introducing a one-week barbering course as part of its Beyond Football initiative.
Five young participants were selected based on heartfelt essays expressing their passion for barbering, earning them the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the trade.
Over the week, they learned essential techniques, tool handling, and industry professionalism.
The program also included a special Financial Literacy workshop led by Gustavo from Belize Professional Accounting Services, aimed at equipping the youths with crucial money management and entrepreneurial skills.
The course culminated in a graduation ceremony on July 22, 2025, held at Cayo CET.
Parents, community members, and special guests gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the students.
Councillor Aaron Mai, guest speaker and instructor at the Cayo CET Institute, delivered an inspiring address encouraging youth to explore vocational pathways.
Emmanuel Myvette cofounder of ACE Lounge, emphasized the power of mentorship and belief in young people.
The event highlighted ACE Lounge’s continued commitment to holistic development—on and off the field—by fostering confidence, skill, and purpose in the next generation.
