By Zoila Palma: The Government of Belize has taken a significant step to enhance the operational capabilities of its national defence forces with the official handover of two new 2025 Kia Sorento vehicles.
At a brief ceremony on Thursday, Oscar Mira, Minister of National Defence and Border Security, presented the vehicles to representatives of the Belize Defence Force (BDF) and the Belize Coast Guard (BCG).
Minister Mira emphasized that the addition of these vehicles is part of a broader strategy to improve the mobility and responsiveness of Belize’s security forces.
Brigadier General Azariel Loria, Commander of the BDF, and Rear Admiral Elton Bennett, Commandant of the BCG, accepted the keys on behalf of their respective organizations.
Both commanders expressed their appreciation and reiterated their commitment to utilizing the vehicles to enhance their operational effectiveness.
