That was Prime Minister John Briceño’s response when asked to compare the increases in salary for the Chief Executive Officer caucus and Cabinet Secretary Stuart Leslie with the proposed increases asked for by the joint unions.
Those increases, he said, would cost the Government an estimated $63 million more annually in addition to other demands.
So while there will be a meeting with the unions led by his deputy Cordel Hyde, it is a matter of what the Government can afford – while allowing that if they could offer more they would.
He indicated there will be no further communication beyond his response issued this week while indicating the meeting will be called as soon as possible.
