By Zoila Palma: The “Creating Opportunities to Support Alternative Livelihoods” project was officially launched in Belmopan, aimed at empowering five natural-resource-dependent communities.
Running from 2025 to 2028, the project will provide sustainable opportunities, including climate-resilient food production, enterprise skills development, and improved market access for nature-based products.
With an approved budget of BZ $2,604,967.60 under the Adaptation Fund Project, the initiative is a collaborative effort between PACT, the Ministry of Agriculture, Beltraide, and the Department of Cooperatives.
This project marks a significant step toward building economic resilience and fostering long-term growth in Belize’s communities.
