By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Nazarene High School’s pitcher Jaysha Weir was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the NSSSA Softball Championships held at the Victor Sanchez Union Field in Punta Gorda, Toledo District.
Weir’s exceptional skills on the mound played a key role in guiding Nazarene to their second consecutive championship victory.
Weir’s composure under pressure was evident throughout the tournament, as she struck out numerous batters and controlled the game with her precision. Her leadership and performance were key to Nazarene defeating Ladyville Technical 12-10, then besting Belmopan Comprehensive 9-4 in the final.
As Nazarene celebrates back-to-back NSSSA titles, Weir stands out as a perfect example of talent and determination. Before shining in the NSSSA Championship, she was selected as the MVP of the Central Regional Championship—a well-deserved recognition that set the stage for her incredible performance at the national level.
