By Zoila Palma:  The Belize Wildlife & Referral Clinic recently facilitated a training for partners at Friends for Conservation and Development (FCD).

BWRC facilitated training on best practices in wildlife care.

BWRC provides annual training, equipping FCD’s Research team with essential skills in animal handling, first aid and wildlife care, since 2015.

This year focused on emergency stabilisation, rehabilitation and New World Screwworm and what to do if this is seen in wildlife.

Participants also gained firsthand experience in wing wrapping, tube feeding, administering subcutaneous fluids and emergency care, all crucial skills in safeguarding the animals when the team are out in the field.

“FCD your dedication to conservation and education is truly inspiring. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of both wildlife and those who work tirelessly to protect them,” BWRC expressed.
