By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Belmopan City Council, in collaboration with UNICOMER Belize, is taking significant steps to tackle the rising concerns over traffic violations and motorcycle-related accidents in the city.
With a focus on improving road safety for both motorists and riders, the partnership aims to raise awareness and enforce traffic regulations.
Today, Belmopan Mayor Pablo Cawich and representatives from the City Council officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with UNICOMER Belize at the Courts Belmopan Branch.
This agreement will launch educational initiatives to promote safe riding practices, traffic law compliance, and responsible behavior on the road.
The initiative aims to reduce motorcycle accidents by strengthening traffic law enforcement and fostering a culture of responsible road use. The Belmopan City Council is encouraging local residents and stakeholders to support this effort to create a safer, more organized road environment for all.
“Together, we can create a culture of responsible road use and reduce the risks associated with traffic infractions and accidents,” the Belmopan City Council said.
