By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: This morning, Prime Minister John Briceno reflected on the significant contributions of former U.S. President Jimmy Carter to Belize.

He recalled how President Carter and Father of the Nation, George Price, worked together on election observation missions across the Americas, championing democracy in the region.

In 2023, President Carter’s daughter received the Order of Belize on behalf of her father, recognizing his enduring support for the region.

Prime Minister Briceno expressed Belize’s gratitude, saying, “I expressed on behalf of Belize our gratitude for the work he has done.”

President Carter will be remembered as a staunch ally in Belize’s journey to independence.
