By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize’s National Under-19 Men’s Volleyball team is set to take on hosts El Salvador on Monday night in a crucial match at the XV AFECAVOL U19 Central American Men’s Volleyball Championship. The match will be held at the El Salvador Volleyball Federation’s (FESAVOL) Gymnasium in San Salvador, starting at 8:00 pm.
On Sunday, Belize stumbled against a tough Nicaragua team, losing the match 3-2 (25-20, 23-25, 25-27, 29-27, 15-7). Despite the hard-fought battle, Belize was unable to secure the win, leaving them eager to redeem themselves against El Salvador.
The detailed match scores from Sunday, December 8 are as follows:
- Costa Rica vs. Guatemala: 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 26-24)
- Belize vs. Nicaragua: 2-3 (20-25, 25-23, 25-27, 29-27, 15-7)
- El Salvador vs. Honduras: 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 31-29)
The Belize players are determined to improve their performance and strive for a better outcome against the hosts tonight. Belize placed third in the previous championship in 2022 and are keen to build on that success in this year’s competition. But to do that they must bounce back against El Salvador. A win tonight is critical for Belize as they aim to straighten up their standings and advance in the tournament.
The Belize volleyball Association encouraged fans to follow and support the team as they compete against some of the best young volleyball talent in the region.
