By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Israeli military strikes across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday killed at least 20 Palestinians, according to medics.

Eight fatalities occurred in Beit Lahiya, where the Gaza health ministry reported at least 93 casualties from a previous airstrike on a multi-floor building, Reuters report.

The U.S. described that attack as “horrifying.”

Gaza’s emergency services have halted operations amid ongoing Israeli assaults, which Israel claims are aimed at dismantling Hamas.

The Israeli army has deployed tanks to northern areas including Beit Lahiya and Jabalia.

Additionally, strikes in southern and central Gaza resulted in at least seven more deaths, including five in Gaza City’s Sheikh Radwan neighborhood.

Since Hamas’s attack on Israel on October 7, which killed 1,200 people, Israeli retaliatory actions have reportedly claimed over 43,000 lives in Gaza, according to local health officials.
