Department of Co-operatives attend Orange Walk Beekeepers AGM

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On October 26, 2024, the Department of Co-operatives participated in the Annual General Meeting of the Orange Walk Beekeepers Co-operative at the Yo Creek Agriculture Station.

Guest speaker Juan Moreno Belmar, President of PROCASUR, addressed attendees alongside Registrar of Co-operatives Gareth Murillo and BMDC Administrator Valentin Carrillo.

New Management Committee members nominated include Imeldo Novelo, Erica Huertas, Vasni Westby, Iliana Ayuso, Francisco Teck, Gilberto Coba, and Urbano Uk.

The co-operative also welcomed new members Andrea Garcia and Selina Sylvania.

Additionally, a participatory agreement with New Hope High School was approved.

Attendees included personnel from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise, as well as Resilient Rural Belize and PROCASUR.
