By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: In a tragic incident, a plane crash in the Brazilian state of São Paulo has claimed the lives of all 62 people on board.
The aircraft, operated by Voepass airline, was carrying 58 passengers and four crew members when it went down in the residential area of Vinhedo.
Dramatic footage shared on social media captures the harrowing moments as the plane plummets from the sky, followed by a large cloud of black smoke.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the São Paulo Fire Department reported that seven firefighting teams are actively involved in the response efforts.
The plane had departed from Cascavel in the southern state of Paraná and was en route to São Paulo’s international airport.
Voepass airline has confirmed that the aircraft was involved in the accident but has not yet determined the cause of the crash.
Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva expressed his condolences, posting on social media, “The situation is very sad. All my solidarity to the families and friends of the victims.”
Local authorities have confirmed that there are no survivors among the 62 individuals who were aboard.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing as officials seek to determine what led to this devastating incident.
