By Horace Palacio: The National Meteorological Service of Belize has issued a forecast predicting sunny conditions with cloudy intervals for today, July 16th, 2024. While the day promises plenty of sunshine, a few showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected to develop primarily over southern and coastal areas this morning. However, shower activity is anticipated to become isolated as the day progresses.
The marine forecast indicates light chop in the sea state with waves ranging from 2 to 4 feet. Winds will be blowing from the east at 5 to 15 knots. Temperatures along the coast are expected to reach a high of 89°F (32°C) and a low of 83°F (28°C), while inland areas will see highs of 94°F (34°C) and lows of 74°F (23°C).
The outlook for Wednesday and Wednesday night indicates predominantly fair weather with isolated shower activity.
The National Meteorological Service advises residents and visitors to stay hydrated and take precautions against the sun’s rays. Additionally, boaters and seafarers are encouraged to exercise caution due to the possibility of isolated showers and thunderstorms.
The Tropical Weather Outlook for the North Atlantic, Caribbean Sea, and Gulf of Mexico shows no expectation of tropical cyclone formation in the next 48 hours.
