By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police believe an ongoing rivalry involving persons in the Louise Bevans Street area may be behind Wednesday night’s murder of 20-year-old Anthony William Perry in Belize City.
Perry was walking in the area when he was approached by a gunman who opened fire, striking him. He was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police say Perry was known to authorities and that investigators believe the murder stems from an ongoing rivalry involving persons from the area. Investigators are currently seeking two suspects and are reviewing surveillance footage that may assist the investigation.
No one had been detained in connection with the murder at the time of Thursday’s police briefing.
Perry’s age, full name and the location of the shooting were also independently reported Wednesday night by Breaking Belize News, which reported that he was shot on Louise Bevans Street before being taken to KHMH.
