By Aaron Humes: Two teenagers are spending their weekend in hospital after allegedly being attacked after leaving a football game in Belize City on Saturday evening.
According to Police, 18-year-old Elijah Willoughby and 18-year-old Zyren Avilez, both of Belize City, along with a 17-year-old minor had left a football game at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex around 4:30 on motorcycle and had reached the corner of Princess Margaret Drive and St Joseph Street when they were set upon by a large group of males attacking them with wood and other objects.
They jumped off their motorcycles and ran into the Pallotti High School compound where it was found that Willoughby had sustained apparent stab wounds to his body and Avilez abrasions to the arms and legs sustained as he tried to run.
Police arrived and escorted the young men to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) for medical attention, where they are listed in a stable condition.
