By Breaking Belize News Staff: A young mother of three from the Victoria Street area of Belize City was in court on Monday, where she pleaded guilty to possession of utensils used for smoking crack cocaine.

Priscilla Marie Edwards, 30, a resident of #10 Victoria Street, appeared unrepresented in Court #3. She was read a single charge of possession of utensils in connection with drug use. The allegation against Edwards states that on Sunday, February 23, 2025, she was found inside a house holding a metal pipe, one inch in length, which had been adapted for smoking crack cocaine.

During court proceedings, when asked about the pipe’s purpose, Edwards admitted that she used it for smoking crack cocaine. As a result of her guilty plea, the Senior Magistrate imposed a non-custodial sentence, fining her $75 plus an additional $5 fine. She was given until March 28, 2025, to make the payment, failing which she will face three weeks of imprisonment.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about drug use and its impact on individuals and families in Belize City.
