By Horace Palacio: A young man is recovering after suffering serious injuries during a violent altercation with his stepfather last night. The attack occurred in Punta Gorda and has left the victim with severe injuries to his head.
Reports indicate that the confrontation began when the young man attempted to return to his stepfather’s home to sleep. According to authorities, the stepfather had previously insisted that the young man should not step foot in the house. Tensions escalated, and during the heated exchange, the stepfather allegedly attacked the young man with a weapon, causing multiple chop wounds to his head and upper body.
The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. Medical professionals have described his condition as serious, but stable, and he is currently receiving care for his injuries.
Police have launched an investigation into the assault, with the stepfather currently under suspicion. Police are seeking to gather further details on the incident, including the cause of the altercation and the weapon used in the attack.
