By Breaking Belize News Staff: Brian Edward Audinett, also known as “Yellow Man,” is out on bail after being arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on a charge of aggravated assault upon a police officer.
Audinett, 43, an office assistant of Belize City, appeared on Friday morning in Court #1 before a Senior Magistrate in the presence of his attorney, Orson “OJ” Elrington. He was read a single charge of aggravated assault, stemming from an incident that allegedly occurred on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, on King Street.
The allegation is that Audinett committed an aggravated assault upon a police constable while the officer was in the execution of his duties. In court, Audinett pleaded not guilty to the charge.
There was no objection to bail; however, the prosecutor requested that conditions be imposed. Audinett was granted bail in the sum of $1,500 plus one surety of the same amount, which he met. As part of his bail conditions, he is not to interfere with or contact the virtual complainant, the complainant’s family members, or any prosecution witnesses, whether directly, indirectly, or through social media. He is due back in court on March 16, 2026.
According to police reports, the officer—who serves as a driver for a High Court judge—was on duty on the night of January 14 on King Street near Amara Avenue when he encountered a dispute between Audinett and a female food vendor. The vendor reportedly told police that Audinett had not paid for a burger and two hot dogs he allegedly ordered.
Police say the officer intervened, at which point Audinett allegedly became disorderly, used profanity, and insisted he had already paid. The cop reported that Audinett struck his hand away as the officer attempted to calm him and continued to use threatening language despite efforts to de-escalate the situation.
In an interview after signing his bail, Audinett denied the allegations, maintaining that he never assaulted the officer. He claimed that he had paid for the food and that the disagreement began when the vendor said otherwise. Audinett further alleged that the situation escalated after the officer intervened and insulted him. He said a friend, Alfonso Noble, was present and witnessed the entire incident, and he believes he is the victim in the matter.
