Ya’axché represented at World NGO Day in Jamaica

By Zoila Palma: Ya’axché’s Agroforestry Extension Officer, Mardoqueo Tush, and Education Outreach Officer, Everett Foster, participated in the Caribbean CSO Conference and World NGO Day Celebration in Kingston, Jamaica, this week.

The event was held under the theme “The Shift: Igniting Civil Society’s Next Chapter.”

The event focused on Entrepreneurship, diversified funding, technology for sustainability, and advocacy in a digital world.

The conference provided a valuable platform for learning, networking, and fostering partnerships, strengthening Ya’axché’s capacity to deliver impactful and sustainable conservation initiatives in Belize.

Attendance of this conference was made possible through the project entitled “Empowering Youths of the Maya Golden Landscape for Conservation Actions and Storytelling,” supported by Local Engagement and Action Fund – LEAF Facebook: Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada.
