By Breaking Belize News Staff (HP): A 9-year-old student from Guinea Grass Village has reported to police that she was spat on and insulted by an adult woman on Sunday evening. The child, accompanied by her father, visited the Guinea Grass Police Sub-Station to make the report.
According to the child, around 6:30 pm she and her father were leaving their home, which is located near an unnamed feeder road, when a woman passed by. The woman allegedly turned toward the child, spat on her right foot, and then insulted her in Spanish. The child told police she felt humiliated and scared by the incident.
Both father and daughter provided statements to officers. Police have since listed a 45-year-old woman from the same village as wanted for the offence of common assault. The investigation continues.
