Woman fights off potential armed rapist at home despite taking hammer blow to head

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a home invasion in Belize City that almost turned into sexual assault or rape.

The complainant, 24 years old, told police that she was at home in her bedroom on Butterfly Street, sleeping, when she was awakened by a slim dark-skinned man rubbing her legs. His face was covered.

She then began to scream and fight off her attacker, who hit her on the right side of her head with a hammer, and fled the scene. The female also stated that she later noticed a condom wrap on her bed and a black-handled knife beside her bed.
