By Aaron Humes: 34-year-old Monique Williams survived a late-night collision on the George Price Highway after her vehicle met a freight truck topped by an industrial plow that covered the length of the Beaver Dam Bridge.
Police say the impact left the driver trapped inside her SUV, as explained by Staff Officer Assistant Superintendent Stacy Smith: “The responding officers observed a silver in color four-door Nissan Rogue SUV on the right side of the bridge, which was damaged, and they also observed an industrial-sized plow disc lodged in the roof of that vehicle. Observed trapped in the vehicle was thirty-four-year-old Monique Williams, who showed injury to the head and body. Williams was extracted from the vehicle and transported for medical attention and is now listed in a stable condition. What we have learned so far in the course of this investigation is that around 8:15 PM Raymond Martinez was driving a Freightliner truck, which had a plow that was extended the entire length of the bridge and Miss Williams was traveling in the opposite direction. Miss Williams became lodged under the plow and the injuries and damage to the vehicle as reported is what occurred. Police have since issued a notice of intended prosecution to Raymond Martinez in connection to this incident.”
