Woman arraigned for allegedly assaulting husband in domestic dispute after he refused to buy food

By Breaking Belize News Staff: 21-year-old Debbie Grant was arraigned in Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Friday for common assault and threat of death against her 50-year-old husband, Timothy Grant. During the hearing, Debbie claimed self-defense, leading to a not-guilty plea being entered. She was granted bail of $500 with conditions, including staying 100 yards away from her husband and living with her mother.

The incident stemmed from a domestic dispute where Debbie allegedly punched her husband after he refused to buy food from a Chinese restaurant. The case will continue in court, and Debbie was advised to seek a restraining order through the Belize Family Court.
