By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is reminding all Belizeans that the closed season for our beloved iguanas is from February to June, as mandated by the Belize Forest Department.
“Why the closed season, you ask? It’s essential for our iguanas to have the undisturbed space they need to breed and thrive. By respecting this law, we’re ensuring the continuation of their species and the health of our ecosystem,” WCS noted.
WCS urges all Belizeans to give the iguanas the peace and protection they deserve during this crucial time.
