By Aaron Humes: 31-year-old Jevon Clare of Iguana Street, Belize City, remains at the Western Regional Hospital, Belmopan, in critical condition after sustaining gunshot injuries to the body following a shooting incident on Wednesday evening.
Responding police found a white Chevy Equinox with no license plates about 200 yards off the George Price Highway between Miles 33 and 34 in some bushes with apparent bullet holes.
Initial investigation revealed that around 7:45 p.m., Clare was driving from the direction of Belmopan and heading to Belize City, when somewhere between St Matthews village and mile 34 a white SUV pulled up beside him and an unknown person fired several shots in his direction causing his injuries.
Police are investigating.
