By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Wesley College’s explosive offense propelled them to the Central Secondary School Sports Association (CSSSA) Boys’ Softball Championship finals with a 26-16 victory over Nazarene High School at Rogers Stadium in Belize City on Saturday.
The boys’ semi-final saw Wesley College’s bats dominate, creating a decisive lead that Nazarene High School could not overcome. The final score, 26-16, showcased Wesley’s offensive firepower, securing their place in the championship finals.
This win sets up a highly anticipated final between Wesley College and Gwen Liz High School on Saturday, March 15.
Nazarene High School, despite the loss, earned a commendable third-place finish.
Meanwhile, the girls’ competition also provided thrilling action. Pallotti High School put on a show defeating archrivals St. Catherine’s Academy with a decisive 20-10 victory that secured them third place.
Looking ahead to the championship finals, EP Yorke High School and Nazarene High School will battle for the coveted title Saturday as well.
The CSSSA Champions qualify for the National Secondary Schools Sports Association (NSSSA) Championship, slated to be held in Punta Gorda on Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22.
