By Zoila Palma: The family of Lissy Yamileth Suntecún Milian, a 13-year-old Guatemalan student missing since Monday, is pleading with the public for help in locating her.
Lissy, who crosses the border daily from Melchor de Mencos to attend San Jose Roman Catholic School in San Jose Succotz Village, was last seen after school on June 16.
She reportedly told a friend her aunt would pick her up—though her family insists she has no aunt in the area. School cameras showed no footage of her leaving campus.
Lissy’s relatives emphasized that all family members are cooperating with police, and no family member currently has custody of the girl.
There is an unconfirmed report that Lissy may have entered a pickup truck headed toward San Ignacio.
Lissy is described as Mestizo, with a clear complexion, approximately 5 feet tall, and weighing 95 pounds.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 922, report through the P3 app, or call the family confidentially at (502) 3344-7897.
“We just want her back safe and alive,” her aunt said. “Please, if anyone knows anything, come forward.”
